Hi Everyone,Sign-ups for the Fall Softball Rookie League are already here, and this Fall we are planning on having 2 teams but this will be dependent on the number of girls who sign up. This will be an inter-town or travel league so we expect to have half of the games played in other local towns (Poughkeepsie, Wappingers, Cold Spring, etc.) but we won’t know what other towns will field teams until they complete their registration period. We expect to have 1 practice during the week as far into the season as we can before we start to be impacted by early sunsets. We are tentatively planning to play home games on Saturday mornings at either 9 or 11 AM on Lyons Field and we fully expect away games will be on Saturday as well but the times of those games will be dependent on availability of fields in the other towns. The local District Softball Association puts together the overall schedule for the league so we need to wait for them to get us the Season Schedule, we are hopeful we’ll have the schedule by the end of August but we ultimately don’t control the timing of when we’ll get the Season Schedule. The same rules that were followed in the Spring will be used in the Fall and which includes a mix of player and coach pitching. We are planning to have the weekly games umpired.
